Your privacy

Cal tracker stores your email, account preferences, subscription access, and the tracking records you choose to create. Records belong to your account and are not shared with other users.

What is processed

Meal descriptions, portions, nutrient estimates and source references are saved in your diary. Uploaded photos are processed transiently by our server and OpenAI to identify food. We do not retain original photos. OpenAI may retain API data according to its applicable service terms. Common foods are matched against USDA data stored on our server; other lookups send food names or barcodes to USDA or Open Food Facts, without your account identity. If you ask us to remember the measurements used for your daily plan (sex, age, height, weight, activity and goal), they are stored with your preferences until you remove them or delete your account. Information you send through ChatGPT is also subject to OpenAI’s terms and privacy controls.

Your control

Consent is requested before tracking. You can correct or delete individual records, export your history from Settings, or delete your account. Account deletion cancels renewal, revokes application access and removes active tracking records. Required financial records may remain with the payment provider.

Service providers

Railway hosts account and tracking data in PostgreSQL in the European Union. Resend delivers sign-in codes. Where subscriptions are available, Stripe processes payments and holds payment information; we do not receive full payment-card details.

Retention and security

Tracking data is retained until you remove it or delete your account. Access is authenticated and scoped to your account. Application logs exclude raw photos and tracking descriptions. Scheduled backups expire within 89 days. Deleted records may remain in backups until they expire.

Your privacy rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction of your personal data through the contact below. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
